Privacy policy
Who we are
The Coefficient (thecoefficiency.com) is a free soccer analysis site run by The Coefficient Team. Questions about privacy: info@thecoefficiency.com.
No accounts, no tracking
You can use the whole site without signing up. We do not run advertising trackers, analytics cookies or fingerprinting, and we do not sell or share personal data.
What stays on your device
Your chosen style (Arcade, Broadcast or Manager), language, favorite teams, display settings and your own match predictions are saved in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device and we cannot see them. Clearing your browser data removes them. If you install the site as an app, recently viewed pages are cached on your device so they work offline.
Mobile apps
The Coefficient apps for iPhone and Android work like the site: no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and they collect no personal data. The app carries its match pages with it so it works offline. When you are online it may check thecoefficiency.com for updated pages (at most every few hours); that request carries no identifier. Live scores come from ESPN's public feed, as on the site. Highlight videos (from YouTube) and other outside links open in the YouTube app or your browser, not inside the app, and Google's privacy policy applies there. Your settings, favorite teams and predictions are kept only in the app's storage on your device; uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes them. Questions: info@thecoefficiency.com.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify processes technical data such as your IP address and request details to deliver and protect the site. The site uses your approximate country from that request, only to choose the word “football” or “soccer”; we do not store it. See Netlify's privacy policy at netlify.com/privacy.
YouTube videos
Official highlight videos are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), and some pages show YouTube thumbnail images. When you play a video, Google's privacy policy applies.
Live scores
On match pages your browser loads live scores directly from ESPN's public data feed (site.api.espn.com), so ESPN receives that request.
The contact form opens your own email app; nothing is stored on this site. If you email us, we use your message only to reply.
Children
The site is meant for fans of all ages and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone.
Changes
